We all get concerned about our kids. Will they make friends? Will people pick on them? Will they do their homework? Will they follow the rules? Will they do well in school?
Of course, we all want our kids to succeed at school and in life. But ask yourself this question, “what is success?”
This interesting article about kids that had a 3.6 or higher GPA shows that while they became highly successful outside of school in their careers none of them became millionaires, according to Author Eric Barker in his book, “Barking Up The Wrong Tree.” You can check out the full article here: Average Millionaire GPA is 2.9.
Maybe we should stop paying our kids for A’s and start pay them for effort they put into learning?
Just some food for thought.
